Nasokoma's international nurse recruitment program connects U.S. healthcare facilities with NCLEX-qualified nurses from leading nursing markets worldwide. We manage the entire journey from credentialing evaluation to visa sponsorship.
Each nurse's foreign education is assessed by CGFNS International or an NCSBN-approved agency to verify equivalency to a U.S. ADN or BSN degree before any application moves forward.
International candidates must pass the NCLEX—the same licensure exam required of all U.S. nursing graduates. We support candidates through exam preparation and registration with the NCSBN.
We manage state board applications, criminal background checks, and English proficiency documentation required by each nursing regulatory body.
Our immigration specialists coordinate EB-3 or TN visa sponsorship, VisaScreen certification, and I-140 petitions in collaboration with immigration counsel.
We facilitate relocation logistics, facility orientation, and cultural onboarding to ensure international nurses integrate successfully and stay long-term.
Tell us your facility type, census needs, and specialties and we'll build a tailored staffing plan.
Nasokoma verifies every nurse against nationally recognized certification bodies including the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), AACN, BCEN, and the National Council of State Boards of Nursing.
The National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) is the standardized national exam developed in 1994 by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). Every nurse we place has passed the NCLEX before being considered for any assignment.
There are two versions: the NCLEX-RN for candidates with an Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), and the NCLEX-PN for those with a Practical Nursing diploma. The 2025 Next Generation NCLEX (NGN) has been updated to assess clinical judgment at a higher level, reflecting the evolving demands of modern healthcare.
After passing the NCLEX, nurses must apply for licensure with the Nursing Regulatory Body (NRB) in the state where they plan to practice. The Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC), currently active in 39 states, allows nurses to practice across compact states under a single multistate license—a key advantage for travel nurse placements.
Candidates must hold an ADN or BSN from an accredited nursing program, complete required clinical hours, pass a criminal background check, and present valid government-issued ID to register with Pearson VUE.
The exam is computer-adaptive and includes multiple-choice, select-all-that-apply, and case-study questions. Authorization to Test (ATT) is issued after the state NRB approves the application.
Candidates holding a Practical Nursing diploma sit for the NCLEX-PN. Upon passing, they may pursue LPN-to-RN bridge programs and additional specialty certifications to advance their careers.
The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the credentialing arm of the American Nurses Association (ANA), has set the standard for nursing specialty certification since 1990. ANCC credentials are nationally recognized markers of clinical expertise.
Requires 2 years full-time RN experience, 2,000 clinical hours in med-surg within the last 3 years, and 30 hours of continuing education in the specialty.
For nurses practicing in acute/critical care settings. Validates competency in ICU patient management, hemodynamic monitoring, and critical interventions.
Awarded to nurses with demonstrated competency in emergency care. Requires active RN license and recognized emergency nursing experience.
Requires a minimum MSN degree from a family NP program, 1,000 practice hours, and successful completion of the ANCC FNP board exam.
Requires 2,000 hours of clinical practice in psychiatric-mental health nursing within the last 3 years and 30 hours of continuing education in the field.
Designed for senior nursing leaders. Requires MSN degree, 2+ years of full-time experience at the nurse executive level, and 30 CE hours in nursing administration.
Certification is more than letters after a name. It validates a nurse's experience, education, and expertise through a formal credentialing process—and Nasokoma only places nurses who have completed this journey.
Nurses must graduate from a program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Qualifying degrees include the ADN and BSN for RNs, with the BSN increasingly becoming the gold standard for hospital-based roles.
The NCLEX is a prerequisite for any nursing certification. An active, unrestricted RN or LPN license in good standing is required by all major certifying organizations before any specialty exam application can be submitted.
Most certifying bodies require 1–2 years of full-time nursing experience and a defined number of specialty clinical hours—typically 2,000 hours within the past 3 years. This ensures certification reflects real-world competency, not just academic knowledge.
Most ANCC certifications require at least 30 hours of continuing education in the specialty area within the prior 3 years. These CE hours keep nurses current with evolving clinical practices and evidence-based care guidelines.
Exams are administered year-round through Prometric testing centers across the U.S. ANCC exams are competency-based, incorporating the latest clinical practices. Upon passing, nurses are awarded their board certification credential, valid for 3–5 years depending on the specialty.
Certification renewal requires continued clinical hours, CE completion, and in some cases a recertification exam. Nasokoma actively tracks renewal status for all placed nurses and alerts facilities ahead of any credential expiration.
Every nurse Nasokoma places is verified through primary source confirmation. Ask us about our credentialing process.
Nasokoma was founded with a singular mission: connect healthcare facilities with the most qualified, credentialed nurses in the world—and make that process as seamless as possible for everyone involved.
Nasokoma Healthcare Solutions is a specialized nursing staffing agency headquartered in Potomac, Maryland. We serve hospitals, health systems, outpatient clinics, long-term care facilities, and home health organizations across the United States.
Our team combines deep expertise in healthcare operations, clinical credentialing, and talent acquisition to deliver staffing solutions that go beyond résumé matching. We understand the compliance requirements, the staffing ratios, the certification standards, and most importantly—the stakes of patient care.
Unlike generalist staffing firms, we focus exclusively on nursing. That specialization allows us to maintain deeper talent networks, faster fulfillment timelines, and a more rigorous credentialing process than firms that spread resources across multiple industries.
